I must inform you...

You may have noticed that I am starting to be quite a sporadic blogger on here.  The lack of consistency is due to the overwhelming home project that I am working on.  My love for good deals has instead been sending me elsewhere...like scouting out good paint mis-tints....a clearanced chandelier....and the list goes on.  We're hoping to be done and moved in by May....so things will get better on here soon.  Thanks for your patience!  Ooh, here's the chandelier I found on clearance the other day....isn't it beautifulf?? (Mine is a bit different....the glass dome on the bottom is not yellowed, but clear.)

Christianos Pizza Deals

Okay, have you seen an uncanny number of those little Christianos cars driving around?  And it's understandable-- they have such great Italian food!  My husband and I can't decide which we like better, their calzones or their salads.  Okay, if you don't know what I'm talking about, you need to get on over there or call a pizza to be delivered to your home.  There's one in Wautoma and one in Green Lake (W1917 Hwy 23) And before you do, make sure you come armed with some great deals...

1. Text PIZZA to 772937 to become a member of the Christianos Pizza Text Club.  I just joined and was told I should be receiving texts for 1-2 deals each week.  My first deal....1 free medium cheese pizza with the purchase of 1 lg pizza.

2. Go to Christianos site to sign up for their birthday club-- you'll receive a coupon for a free personal pan pizza on your birthday.  There's also a newsletter to sign up & recieve news & special events.

FYI-- This is one of the only restaurants in the area that has such a large delivery area...if you live within driving distance from Wautoma or Green Lake, they will most likely deliver to you!

Super Double Coupons @ Kmart: April 4-10

Wow, this is the first I've heard of this-- but I'm definitely going to make sure I participate this time around!  I guess the week of April 4-10, select Kmarts will be doubling manufacturer's coupons up to $2 value, up to 5 coupons total each day.  Kmart store coupons will not be included. Here's the site that has a full list of all of the Kmarts in the nation that are supposed to be participating.  The local Ripon Kmart is on there, so I'm pumped!!  (Morton & Pekin are included, too.)

For now, start collecting your high-value (up to $2) coupons and get ready to have fun getting a bunch of items for a great deal the first week of April!

Piggly Wiggly Double Coupon Days!!!

Great news.  Certain Piggly Wigglys are going to double coupons during the month of March.  The closest one to me that is doing so is the Piggly Wiggly in Oshkosh (525 E. Murdock St.).  At this store double coupons are available every day from March 3-23.  The manufacturer's coupons that will be doubled can be of a value up to $1 and up to 5 will be doubled during each transaction.  A $25 minimum purchase is required.  The Piggly Wiggly in Appleton is also doubling coupons, but I'm not sure on the specifics on their deals.  If you see the deals I already posted below...doubling coupons would really make it a good deal!

Couponing

Here are the simple tips I use to help me navigate the world of couponing.....

1. Choose a weekly budget or goal amount
    - Give yourself a month or so to figure out what amount will work best
    - Put that amount as cash in an envelope each week if you need to

2. Collect ALL coupons that could ever interest you
    * Websites:  coupons.com, smartsource.com, redplum.com, allyou.com, vocalpoint.com, cellfire.com
    * Newspapers & magazines (All You has a bunch of coupons!)
    * Stores
         - Check store ads for store coupons
         - Stack coupons (a pad of coupons where you rip one off)
         - Blinkies (blinking machines that dispense coupons)
         - Catalinas (coupons that print out at the register)
    * Manufacturers
         - Contact your favorite brands and let them know how much you appreciate their product...they just might send you coupons for your effort
    * Products
         - Instant coupons are often on the outside of products
         - Always check the inside of packaging before you throw them out

3. Organize your coupons
     - Your effectiveness and total $ saved depends on this!
     - I use a plastic shoebox container & place the coupons in organized tabbed envelopes
     - Organize based on grocery categories, clothing, stores, etc.

4. Plan ahead
     - Base your meals for the week on the deals you find
     - Shopping lists...write it in the order of the way you'd shop in the store
     - Put the coupons you're using in each store in a labeled envelope (easier to find!)

5. Shop the drugstores
     - Combine their deals with your coupons to get many cheap & free items!

6. Stockpile
      - On the expensive items you go through quickly

7. Do your math
       - Sure you may look like a nerd...but carry that calculator with you, anyway.  This nerd is working hard to save some $!

8. Do what you can
       - Don't get overwhelmed...just experiment and have fun with it!

Just found out about a way you can swipe some free cookies.  Go to Nabisco's facebook page to become a facebook fan.  Then click on the "Cookies & Milk" tab...and click on the big "Click Here" button-- and your coupon should print.  The first 500,000 people will get a coupon good for a free package of Nabisco cookies if you buy a gallon of milk & another package of Nabisco cookies.  The coupon expires 3/4/10-- so hurry!
