Is anyone else frustrated when your eye shadow is down to a few flecks of powder or your mascara wand is merely petting your eyelashes rather than applying anything....because make-up is SO expensive to replace these days? I especially get frustrated with mascara because it dries out so quickly and has to be replaced more often. Since motherhood, I have been known to sometimes sport the gloppy stuff that's drying out...just b/c I'm too cheap and am waiting for the next great mascara sale! Plus, all items I use on my eyes have to be hypoallergenic, & if I go with anything else my eyes are so irritated they are pouring out tears (literally) by the end of the day in an effort to rid themselves of the make-up. This greatly limits my options & the only mascara brands I've found to work are Clinique (expensive!), Almay, & Physician's Formula.
I am happy to say I can add a new line of super-affordable make-up to my list. Lacura is a European line that is made out of many natural ingredients. Their mascara was only $3.99 so I thought I'd try it. I've been using it for a few weeks now and could not be more pleased with it. How fun to have a natural mascara (made with beeswax) for such a great price! I'm working on sampling their other products...I just bought their moisturizer & eye cream tonight. I don't recommend their lip gloss, but that's a personal choice. (I like things that taste good. I also wouldn't recommend Chapstick...I like fruity & minty glosses.)
Okay, so where in the world can you find this stuff? Here:
Yes, go to your local Aldi grocery store. I know, I know. That's the cheap store with the carts you pay for (it's actually just a $0.25 deposit that you get back later), have fewer choices (that's why the store is SO cheap!), and you have to bring your own bag (they were the original store that inspired us all to go green!) I highly suggest that you find yourself a local Aldi & give it a shot, even if it's just to try out their cheap, quality make-up line. And maybe while you're there you can try out their groceries....so much quality for such a low price.
